Hey guys, George Bolotin office called. They bought a Butterfly IQ3 ultrasound device. They are able to use the device with their ipad, when they plug it, they are able to see the images and everything works fine.
Thing is that they use Studycast, and they want to integrate the Butterfly device with that other cloud software. They received an email from the provider. Has anyone worked with this devices before? I can follow the guides to try to connect the device with the software, but looks like we have to install some software at the server / add some configs at the router/firewall

This is a customer support email from Edward at Butterfly Network (dated Oct 25, 2024, 10:52 EDT) addressed to a user named Jalyna, regarding DICOM integration with Butterfly Cloud via a DICOM-TLS connector. The email references two recommended integration methods: a Load Balancer (Citrix Netscaler or F5 Big-IP) and software-based TLS termination via stunnel.org on a Virtual Machine server, with links to respective install guides (Citrix Netscaler Install Guide, F5 Big IP Install Guide, Stunnel Install Guide). A System Integration support article is referenced, and the email notes that institutional IT involvement is typically required for implementation.

Hello Jalyna,
We have resources available here on how to integrate your Butterfly Cloud with a DICOM endpoint via our DICOM-TLS connector, or, if you need further assistance, we have a Butterfly Professional Services team available for an additional cost to help with the set-up process.
DICOM integration is accessible with an active membership. For context, we would recommend one of two methods for DICOM integration:
Load Balancer (like Citrix Netscaler or F5 Big-IP). - Citrix Netscaler Install Guide/F5 Big IP Install Guide
Software-based TLS termination (stunnel.org) running on a Virtual Machine server. - Stunnel Install Guide
(If you are a Veterinarian, the option to bypass ordinary patient privacy considerations makes this setup considerably simpler. Please review this article for more information.)
Note that these implementations usually require institutional involvement from your hospital's IT team. These guides are pulled from our System Integration support article which contains some additional high level information which you may find useful.
The guides are comprehensive and can usually be followed in a step by step fashion. My recommendation would be to discuss this with the Imaging / Network admins at your hospital to determine if they need any assistance.
If you require hiring assistance from us with this setup, or if you are interested in setting up integrations beyond those outlined above, please let us know -- we would be happy to talk through what you’re hoping to accomplish to get you the help you need, and will work with you to prepare a quote for our team for the task. I'll look forward to get an estimate and send it to you.
Warm Regards,
Edward

👀 Should I try installing stunnel at the server?

I only worked with installing studycast when NYMED needed to get their ultrasound images to be accessed by a remote team. I didn't really do the installation since the IT team from that company worked with me, I was mainly providing access and also conferenced in the office staff as well since we needed to test. So if butterfly doesn't include support for this integration, how about studycast support, can they help us if we get stuck?

I can call studycast and ask if they are able to help us. Should I try to make it work first or just call them?

yeah it's better to work with someone who has already worked with such an integration if that's an option.

Okay, will do! I will try to contact them and get some help if it's possible

if dr purchased this ultrasound device himself, what was his deal with the vendor? did he speak to his software vendors beforehand to see if and how it would integrate

That's a good question lol, she told me that the device was already working and she needed to integrate it to Studycast, and she shown me that email, so I suppose that he already did. I will ask Studycast
