Guys, I'm setting up some emails here for Dr Pavlov office and we have to set up the MFA - they're asking if we can set the MFA ourselves, is this possible?
Tech B 2024-11-01 19:12
You have to set up the 2fa with a phone number or device, so we will need that to set it up
Tech B 2024-11-01 19:12
Sometimes you can use an authenticator app
Tech B 2024-11-01 19:12
But for that they have to download the app at their phones
Tech B 2024-11-01 19:13
Or use their phone number to get a code
Tech A 2024-11-01 19:13
Yeah but I mean, they do not want to download the app or so, they want us to have the MFA on our phones, so I'm wondering if maybe we have a phone in the office for this?

I know that @Albert Khaydatov has different 2FA for different accounts, but we do that for admin accounts I think...

i dont think this will be the best for them, cause even if we can, from time to time this will ask for authentication, when that happen they will need to call us just to get that code which could be expired at the time they get to us etc. best approach for User account they will need to have the MFA on their Cellphones
Tech D 2024-11-01 19:19
so, they want US , DHM, to have THEIRS 2FA for THEIR email accounts? Am I missing something? ")
Tech D 2024-11-01 19:19
are they using the mail client or web interface?
Tech A 2024-11-01 19:20
Mail client
Tech D 2024-11-01 19:21
ok, then we can have 2fa but not on our personal phones. https://www.fuseworkforce.com/en/knowledge/how-to-set-up-google-authenticator-on-a-web-browser maybe this would work?
Tech D 2024-11-01 19:22
because for the mail client we would have to setup application password anyways, so its not like they would have to use 2FA each time opening the mail client
Tech A 2024-11-01 19:23
Def that works, I'm going to give it a try and explain everything to the office - Thank you
