Hey guys, ECO DENTAL NY. We are having an issue with their Eaglesoft server there, they are calling everyday because Eaglesoft is not working. I see that the services are stopped, so I have to run them manually. When I try to open eaglesoft on the server, I get this message. I also found this note when I open their profile Eaglesoft Server wont come on after we do a backup. I MSG the backup  chat about this issue. This was also posted in the backup chat back in May and it appeared to have been fixed. Not sure what changed.

**Patterson Eaglesoft – Error 1310** is displayed in a dialog box with the message: *"Error writing to file: C:\Eaglesoft\Shared Files\Interop.ESTechUtilLib.dll. Verify that you have access to that directory."* A second background dialog reads *"Please wait while Windows configures Patterson Eaglesoft – Time remaining: 1 minute,"* with a progress bar partially filled. The Patterson Server Status window shows **Patterson Database Server: Running**, **Patterson Assistant Server: Stopped**, and **Service Status: Connected / Upgrade Status: Upgrade Not Ne[eded]**; server events are logged on **12/5/2024** between **8:22 AM and 8:24 AM**. The logged-in provider is listed as **Alex Merakhovich**.

There is job in task scheduler on servers with EagleSoft to start/stop the services. Sometimes it gets damaged and error comes up when trying to stop/start ES with pattersonstatus.exe -stop or -start, it's caused by some installation issue with ES. I Think Sergey or Anthony fixed it at some client with help of ES support

We are talking about 2 different issues here. Services not starting automatically could be caused by a number of reasons including high server uptime, misconfiguration of the ES Technical reference utility, the ver of ES, permissions etc. The issue from the screenshot is a known ES problem that has been described in a KB article, i think. Its a permissions issue.

Popup issue is fixed. Should I call Eaglesoft support regarding services?
Tech C 2024-12-05 13:50
Whats the uptime of the server?
Tech A 2024-12-05 13:51
5 hours
Tech A 2024-12-05 13:51
this is happening everyday
Tech C 2024-12-05 13:51
Is assistant service enabled in tech reference?
Tech A 2024-12-05 13:54
It is unchecked
image/png image.png
**Patterson Eaglesoft Server Settings panel** is displayed. The computer is configured as **"Server And Workstation"**. The **Server Name** field shows **"EAGLESOFT"**, and the **Packet Size** is set to **"[Auto]"**. Two unchecked options are visible on the right: **"Start Assistant Database"** and **"Run in Debug Mode"**.
Tech C 2024-12-05 13:55
Is the task in task schedule set to be run as admin?
Tech A 2024-12-05 13:56
(no text)
image/png image.png
**Windows Task Scheduler – General Tab** A scheduled task named **START_EAGLESOFT** is displayed in the General tab, authored by **SERVER-PC\DentalHT**, configured for **Windows 10**. The security option **"Run with highest privileges"** is checked, and the task is set to **"Run whether user is logged on or not"** under the **DentalHT** user account. Two additional tasks are visible in the list above: **EAGLE SOFT** (Running, at log on of any user) and **STOP_EAGLESOFT_FOR_BACKUP** (Ready, at 10:00 PM every day).
Tech C 2024-12-05 13:58
we are actually looking at this
image/png image.png
The image shows a **Windows Task Scheduler Security Options** configuration panel. The user account **"DentalHT"** is circled in red, with the task set to **"Run whether user is logged on or not."** The **"Run with highest privileges"** checkbox is checked and highlighted with a red box, and the configuration target is set to **Windows 10**.
Tech C 2024-12-05 13:58
make sure the folder where the exe file resides has full permission
Tech A 2024-12-05 13:59
I added permissions to that folder, "Shared Files"
Tech C 2024-12-05 14:00
we can see how it goes tomorrow and if still not launching, try changing to the system profile instead. Also, I've had success by switching to Run only when user is logged in and enable Autologon util to automatically login upon reboot.
Tech A 2024-12-05 14:00
Will try that if it doesn't work :) Thanks!
Tech A 2024-12-09 13:16
This still happening. I see that the autologon is configured to log in under USER,not DentalHT. Probably is because of that? Because that session is already signed in, and trying to start the services?
Tech A 2024-12-09 13:16
I see that USER is logged in and running Serverstatus.exe
Tech A 2024-12-09 13:26
I configured autologon for DHT user, it works, but after it's logged in I get this
image/png image.png
**Patterson Server Status (EAGLESOFT)** is displayed via a LogMeIn remote session, showing all four services — **Patterson Database Server, Patterson Application Server, Patterson API Server, and Patterson Assistant Server** — with **Server Status: Stopped** and red indicator lights. A secondary dialog reads: **"Cannot start service WebApiService on computer '.'."** The **Patterson Database Upgrade** section shows **Service Status: Not Connected**, and the event log dated **12/9/2024 8:24 AM** confirms all four server statuses as Stopped.
