anyone ever seen if a windows that is not activated would not allow you to use the microphone? headset works fine in other pc, but in this one, can't get the mic to record anything, everything is properly configured, but in this page, everything is grayed out, and Mic has a line across it, like if its muted lol

**Windows 11 Sound Settings Panel**
Two output devices are listed: **Altavoces – Realtek(R) Audio** (Enabled, not default) and **Altavoces – Logitech USB Headset** (Default device). Two input devices are listed: **Micrófono – Logitech USB Headset** (Default device) and **Varios micrófonos – Intel® Smart Sound Technology for Digital Microphones** (Enabled). Both Output and Input volume sliders are set to **100**; Mono audio is **Off**. A banner reads: *"You need to activate Windows before you can personalize your PC."*

maybe settings is being blocked because of windows activation, have you tried to control the audio / mic from the old method (control panel)?
also why isn't it activated? do they want us to activate?

**Windows Sound Settings — Activation Warning**
The screenshot shows the **System > Sound** settings page in Windows 11. A highlighted notification banner (outlined in red) displays the message: **"You need to activate Windows before you can personalize your PC."** The **Output** section is visible below, showing a "Choose where to play sound" option.

Ok, I guess I will blame it on windows, but activation blocking a mic, that is new to me

test it here, if works online, issue is due to Windows activation https://mymictest.com/headphone-mic-test

Yeah try from control panel instead of settings, maybe works there
