Hey guys, quick question... All smiles dental spa wants to add a new initial reason for the appointment. I understand that the ADA code should be the same as the procedure code, right? They created a procedure for that, the code is WELLNESS. If I try to add that ADA code to the initial reasons, the only thing that I can type is WELLN, no more letters. If I try to change that ADA code at the procedures, I get this popup.. Not sure if I'm doing it correctly or not, any suggestions?

**Dentrix Office Manager Module** dialog box is displayed with the warning message: *"Changing this procedure code may leave DENTRIX in an UNSTABLE condition! Please contact Support at 800-735-5518 to find out how to properly modify your procedure codes. MODIFY procedure code?"* with **Yes** and **No** buttons presented. The dialog is triggered within the **Procedure Code Editor - Existing** window for procedure code **D0003**, described as **"WELLNESS SCAN"** under the ADA code field. The background **Procedure Code Setup** window shows a search for "well" returning a single result: **WELLNESS / WELLNESS / WELLNESS SCAN**.

The screen displays a **Dentrix Practice Definitions** dialog box with **Definition Type** set to "Appointment Reasons." Two entries are highlighted in a red box: **ID 18: PO – Post Up** and **ID 19: WELLN – Wellness**. The surrounding list shows appointment reason codes (D0120–D1206) with associated text descriptions, and action buttons (Add, Change, Delete, Close) are visible on the right side of the dialog.

codes and app reasons are 2 different things
Tech A 2025-02-06 20:01
They created the app reason, but it's not showing up when they create a new appointment
Tech A 2025-02-06 20:01
All the other reasons are showing up, not that ones that are called WELLNESS and PO
Tech B 2025-02-06 20:02
the codes are universal and its not recommended to alter them. Appt reason is something you can create and attach some existing codes or create own code of needed
Tech A 2025-02-06 20:03
They created 2 codes at app reason
Tech A 2025-02-06 20:03
Wellness and OP

Each of the 20 reasons must first be set up as a procedure or multi-code. None of the reasons should require additional treatment information such as a tooth number or surface. The following 14 appointment reasons are included with Dentrix, but can be changed or deleted as necessary: 1. D0120 Periodic Ex 2. D0140 Limited Eval 3. D0150 Comp. Eval. 4. D0160 Ext. Eval. 5. D0210 FMX 6. D0220 PA 1st 7. D0272 2 BWX 8. D0274 4 BWX 9. D0330 Pano 10. D1110 Prophy-Adult 11. D1120 Prophy-Child 12. D1201 Prophy/Fl-Ch 13. D9110 Emerg Ex 14. D9310 Consult

That's what I'm asking about, not sure if it should have a procedure with the same ADA code
Tech B 2025-02-06 20:06
it depends. If its something that exists, then attach the existing code. If does not exis, then it has to be created first
Tech A 2025-02-06 20:07
So, they created a procedure code, the procedure code is WELLNESS.. but I'm not able to type that entire word at the app reason code
Tech A 2025-02-06 20:07
I found a ADA code list, but doesn't say anything about "wellness" so not really sure
Tech B 2025-02-06 20:07
well...
Tech B 2025-02-06 20:08
The code entered cannot be longer than 5 digits.
Tech B 2025-02-06 20:08
rename it or recreate with 5 symbols
Tech A 2025-02-06 20:08
So what should we do with the procedure then? Because if I try to modify it, I get that popup that everything will explode
Tech B 2025-02-06 20:09
did they just create it?
Tech A 2025-02-06 20:09
I think so+
Tech B 2025-02-06 20:09
confirm that first. But if yes, then this code is not used anywhere and ... let it explode
Tech A 2025-02-06 20:14
So yes, there should be a procedure code created, ADA code should be the same as init app reason
Tech A 2025-02-06 20:14
It's working now, thx 🙂
